May you rest in peace dear Nick...I am grateful for all of your encouragement. You have been a steady light and a strong presence for me and for others. It is fitting for me that I met you at the crossroads. I have a lot of great memories of you. I will never forget how wonderful it has been to work with you during toys for tots events and how fun it was to be alongside you during Stages Arts events. May your family find comfort and peace during their time of loss. You are missed.

I liked calling him Mr. DeSantis, sounds so formal for such a laid-back dude. Nick was my first mentor and introduced me to peer support recovery, making a profound impact in my life and in the lives of so many others. I enjoyed the yearly trips to the Bethlehem music fest and the Phillies baseball games. Nick would always sport one of his nice designer shirts, matching head to toe, I think he knew something about Sprezzatura! Very much the inner thinker, we had moments of introspect, Nick had a secret in knowing how to treat people and it served him extremely well, he will be remembered..
NICK DE SANTIS, A LIFE LIVED WELL! A JOB WELL DONE! REST IN PEACE!

Mr Nick, Thanks for believing in me and giving me a chance at a time when I couldn’t depend on anybody. I will always remember you, all of our talks, and most importantly our friendship. This hurts but I’m glad you are in piece now and until I see you again my friend sleep easy. Alvin❤️

...so many wonderful memories of our family gatherings at the pool and Christmas parties. One of the best things about going to those was knowing that NickyD would be there! So sad for losing him.

Cuz Nicky was a special guy who always made me feel his love and caring. He so enjoyed sharing our mutual Italian heritage. He loved researching a family home we may have owned in Italy and hoped to visit someday. RIP you sweet man.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Nick for almost 20 years. His kindness, compassion and dedication to helping others was immeasurable. He was a great listener, but equally a great storyteller and humorist. The photo I shared is from the early days of Stages Arts Initiative, a project which we worked on together. Nick's ability to weave a tale was incredible, and when he took the stage to read his work, he held the audience in rapt attention.
I will always miss our Phoenixville meet-ups and dinners, our conversations, and our really long texts. My deepest condolences to all of his family and friends.

I was fortunate to have worked with Nick at Horizon House and knew him for most of his 30+ years there. Nick was a very special person and professional. He was caring , compassionate, thoughtful , humorous, a friend to many , an advocate , and a leader. For Nick , the person in front of him was always the most important.
He played a major role in the creation of "peer run" services in Chester County and continuously challenged himself and others to be the best they could be. He made a difference in the overall behavioral health system and the lives of many. He will be missed.
To Nick's family , please accept my condolences and know that my thoughts are with you.
Sincerely, Rich Ziegler
