Rita D. Gibbons  

Rita D. (Purcell) Gibbons, 95, of Plymouth Meeting, PA passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022.

She was born in Bryn Mawr, Pa on May 16, 1927, the daughter of the late Joseph B. and the late Catherine (Dougherty) Purcell.

Rita has lived in Plymouth Meeting, Pa since 1971, formerly of Conshohocken, Pa. 

She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord RC Church, where she was a member of The Legion of Mary and Perpetual Adoration.

Rita was interested in Piano, Shetland Sheep dogs and dog training.  She was a wonderful cook and loved decorating our family home and also loved Wyeth prints. She loved the beach and taking many long walks with her loving husband near their home. Rita loved her family deeply, especially her Grand Children and Great Grandchildren. Her family was her world. 

She was a 1947 Graduate of Lower Merion High School and attended Montgomery County Community College.

She was a Homemaker and a Real Estate Sales agent for Century 21 & Coldwell Banker Caparo. 

She was the wife of Late - Thomas J. Gibbons.

Survivors include, Son Thomas J. Gibbons of Norristown, Daughter Donna M. (& Kenneth) White of Conshohocken, Son Kevin S. (& Lisa) Gibbons of King of Prussia, Daughter Karen T. (& Late - Joseph) Ferrier of Conshohocken, Daughter Christina L. (& Mark) Keller of King of Prussia, Sister Marie Hayes of Havertown, also survived by her Grandchildren Vanessa White, Kenneth (& Jennifer) White, Kristen (& Christopher) Greenawalt, Jennifer Keller, Lindsey Keller and Carolyn Keller, and Great Grandchildren Ashley Ryan, Hannah Ryan, Jocelyn White, Charlotte Greenawalt and Cameron Greenawalt.

Along with her husband, parents and son in law she was preceded in death by a daughter Patricia Gibbons, a son Paul K. Gibbons, and siblings, Mary Clare Purcell, Joseph Purcell, William Purcell, John Purcell, Catherine Purcell, Anne Purcell, Theresa Purcell(Rambo), and Edward Purcell.

Her Funeral Mass will be held Monday, January 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM from Epiphany Of Our Lord RC Church, 3050 Walton Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA.

Friends may call on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the church.

Interment will be private in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, Pa.
