Obituary of Helen M. Smith

Helen M. (Shaw) Smith of Philadelphia, PA passed away on her 97^th birthday on Friday, June 3, 2022.

She was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania on June 3, 1925, the daughter of the late Stephen and Rose (McDermott) Shaw.

Helen lived in the Norristown area before moving to Andorra.  She was a parishioner of Visitation BVM RC Church in Trooper.  She worked as a lincensed Cosmetologist for over 60 years  and also in the kitchen at the former Bishop Kenrick High School.

She was a member of the Compassionate Friends Valley Forge Chapter located in King of Prussia. She enjoyed bingo, knitting, and checkers.

She was ever loving, loyal, and dedicated to her family and friends and appreciated the time spent together.

Helen admired butterflies and their symbolism for life.

She was the wife of the late Robert B. Smith.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Smith, two granddaughters, Courtney Smith and Lynda Wenrich, two great granddaughters, Helayna Rose Bonnett and Lyza Faith Wenrich. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Along with her husband and parents, Helen was preceded in death by three sons, Robert J. Smith, Patrick “Kenny” Smith, and Stephen Smith. 

Her Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA 19401.   

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. 

Interment will follow in Limerick Garden of Memories.
