Ed was a good man whom we had the opportunity of serving for many years. Ed was always a pleasure to deal with and all the guys who went there are saddened. You were struggling for some time now its time to rest. It was always good to hear him on the other end of the line when he called in and I know he enjoyed life. Mr. O’Hanlon and his beautiful family have been a constant in my life ever since his daughter Nancy and I had become close friends in High School. It is so hard to believe I will no longer see his smiling face around town, running into him at events, comedy shows at the firehouse, annual super hero run, or family functions. He will be truly missed by all and was one of a kind. My heart breaks for you all and the severity of this loss. I keep reminding myself that he is now reunited with John, which brings tears to my eyes…..But those tears quickly turn into a smile thinking of the all trouble they will get into together up there in Heaven. Ed is one of the kindest men we know. There are many times when we enjoyed Ed and Becky’s kind hospitality at their welcoming home gatherings as well as the work he does via the Knights of Columbus. My family and I still talk about the time when I was going through an abrupt job termination, Ed and Becky immediately helped my family and I by letting us use their shore home for a week which served to soften and process the shock.
