Obituary of Hubert P. Lieberum

Hubert P. Lieberum, Sr., age 95, of Norristown, PA, formerly of Maple Shade, NJ. passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020.

He was born in Bridgeport, CT on July 31, 1925, the son of the late George  W. Lieberum, Sr. and Clotilde (Scully) Lieberum.

Bert was a graduate of Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, Class of 1942.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Seaman 1st Class aboard the USS Rockaway *29 Avp from 1943 - 1946.  He was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal, European Theater Ribbon, American Campaign Medal, European-African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and the Honorable Service Lapel Button.  He was a charter member of VFW Post #2445 in Maple Shade, NJ. 

He worked as a Machinist at Machine Metals for 25 years prior to his retirement in 1989.  Bert loved time spent in Cape May, NJ, fishing off the jetty, dancing, and his dogs Tiger and Tippy.  

He was the beloved husband of the late Anna (Dimino) Lieberum, with whom he shared 70 years of marriage.  

He is survived by his son, Thomas Lieberum, and two daughters, Alice Undercuffler and Rosemarie Lieberum.  He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jesse Durante, Shawn Smith, and Dana Lieberum; and three great grandchildren, Leah Carr, Liam Darden, and Stella Smith. 

Along with his wife and parents, Bert was preceded in death by his grandson, Franny Joe Undercuffler; daughter, Ann Durante; son, Hubert P. "Bert" Lieberum, Jr.; three brothers, George, Jerry and Henry; and four sisters, Marcella, Edna, Alicia, and Henrietta.  

Relatives and friends are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 10:00 AM from Visitation B.V.M. Church, 196 N. Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403.  There will be no calling hours prior to Mass.  

Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Norriton, PA.
