Bill and Karen were opposites that complimented each other perfectly. Bill, in his quiet way enabled her to fly. When she could nag/ coax him into joining her, he always had a good time. The last time I saw Bill was at such an event, my son’s wedding...so happy he was there. My son-in-law met Bill there, only that one time. They hit it off and Bill invited Chris and family to Rehoboth. Bill made such a lasting impression on Chris that he will be at the funeral to pay his respects. I hope that Bill feels the love that everyone, not just family, has for him. And, I hope that love helps to comfort his family.

I met Bill in 1977 or 1978 when he and Karen were already dating. There was a group of nurses, and I was one of them, from Einstein Medical Center and many of that infamous crowd lived at 7901 Henry, where Bill worked for a while.. He met Karen there also. Our group all adored Bill and loved nothing more than to hang out with him every chance we could get. Bill was just plain FUN to be with. And such a handsome man. We told him all the time! No wonder he loved us back!
I rented a summer shore house on 47th St in Sea Isle City for many years and some of my fondest memories of time spent with Bill were weekends down the shore. Bill, Karen, Sandy, Tricia, Feds and I would head down to the beach in late morning and we would make Bill carry everything. We ladies always managed our beach towels while Bill carried the beach chairs, the umbrella, the cooler ( maybe two) and anything other paraphernalia we didn't feel like hauling. Typically, Bill we had a choice word or two for us but he was a good sport and carried the load despite our arrogance.
I recall Bill and Karen's wedding so very well. That day was one filled with great laughter and love. I remember people having such a wonderful time dancing. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. It was obvious this couple really loved each other.
As time went on and life happened, our lives took us down separate paths as is so often the case. But I can tell you that EVERY TIME I have thought of Bill over the years, I have the best memories of that period in our lives when we had not a care and our friendships meant the world to us. God speed, my friend, and may you find peace. Julie Hyland
