William Ryan  

William Ryan, 78, of Devon, PA passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 8, 1941, the son of the late Joseph F. and the late Clara E. ( Andrews ) Ryan.

Bill lived in Devon for the last 6 years, formerly of Valley Forge, Andorra and Southwest Sections of Philadelphia.

He served the Philadelphia Police Department for 20 years as a patrolman, in Highway Patrol, an original member of the Stakeout Squad (SWAT) and Sergeant at the 6th District (11th & Winter).

As an entrepreneur, Bill owned and operated Dunkin Donuts (Flourtown, PA), Mr. Hot Dog (SW Phila.), Parcel Plus (Andorra, PA) and Pretzels and Dogs (Phoenixville, PA) and finally was also a Travelling Notary.

Bill was Director of Security for Chestnut Hill Hospital and St. Charles Borromeo Seminary.

He possessed a lifetime passion for animals, especially those needing rescue.

Survivors include Wife Rosemary Ryan ( Bell ) of Devon, PA, Son William J. (& Karen) Ryan of Ft. Washington, PA Daughter Kimberly Ryan of Chestnut Hill, PA, Son Jeffrey (& Jennifer) Ryan of Largo, FL, Brother Edward (Toni deceased) Ryan of Norwood, PA, his 2 grandsons Rodman & William and his beloved rescue cat Buddy.

He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM from St. Matthew's RC Church, 219 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA.

Friends may call on Tuesday Morning, March 10, 2020 from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at the church.

Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
