I’m so sorry for your loss. Ed was a very special person. Seeing him in the hallways at Shannondell always brightened my day. I miss him already.

What a wonderful gentleman! I met Ed when he retired from GE and started at Turner Field as a Flight Instructor. His gentle and patient personality combined with his wisdom made him a natural at teaching. So many great memories working and flying with him over the years. His generosity with his time for kids, especially where aviation was concerned, was a joy to observe. It would be easy to feel only sad with his passing but my life is richer for having known him and I feel privileged that this outstanding man considered me as his friend. God Bless Him.

Our thoughts are with you during this very sad time. I fondly remember our family reunions when I was young boy and would talk to Uncle Ed. He was a heroic figure to me. My opinion of him never changed over the years. One of the highlights of our family reunions in recent years remained my chance to catch up with Uncle Ed. He was a wise, kind and decent man. i will miss him.

We met Ed back in the 1960s at St. Helena’ Parish and GE.
Our friendship with Ginnie & Ed involved the Living Room Dialogue group; frequent dinners at Crabby Larry’s; lectures by Father Leo; get togethers at New Years and for the last few years our visits every other Monday at. Capone’s.
He related his involvement Angel Flight.
Liked Ed’s experiences flying a B-24 Liberator.
We will greatly miss his friendship.

I knew Ed distantly while working at GE...but really got to know him better when I became interested in learning to fly...He gave me my first hours’ instructions!!!...Ed quickly put me at ease!!!...He was unflappable!!!..of course I learned all about OSHKOSH from Ed...made 6 yearly trips there with Ed, Norb, and Paul....I have photos of Ed standing in front of a B-24, at OSH......What impressed me about Ed was that he was his easygoing manner!!!....although I am 5 years younger than Ed, I used him as a guide in elder living...Relaxed...!!!...I was especially thrilled when he showed up at my 90th birthday party!!!!!!.....Rest in Peace, old friend...See you soon!!!

Like Norb Trohoski, travelled to Oshkosh, WI, a few times with Ed, Norb, and other pilots. Ed and I were CFI’s (certified flight instructors) and gave each other Biennial Flight Reviews (BFRs) - Required by the FAA. Ed was an outstanding pilot, and had experience in many different aircraft, including warbirds, so he was highly skilled and could handle any aviation situation quite easily. So, after one BFR session that I gave to Ed, Ed asked what he could do differently (to be a better pilot), so I scratched my head and came up with: “well you could have landed on the centerline” (of the runway - he landed a little off-center). Ed never let me forget that comment.
So Ed, old BFR buddy, may you rest in peace, and may all of your landings be smack dab on the centerline. We miss you.

Spent many years starting from 1976 with Ed at the Oshkosh air show having what Ed said was a preview of a “Pilots Heaven”. Ed you must be in your glory. Make sure to find a High-Wing that we can lay under to watch the Airshow when I join you.
