I first met Harry in 1970 when we worked together at PSFS. Work was actually a lot of fun, because of our similar senses of humor. In 1971 I started running TSD road rallies and I needed a navigator (co-driver). I approached Harry about getting together for an upcoming event. Harry was an avid sports fan, but he did not have any road rally experience. Then there was the conflict of interest of Harry having season tickets to the Eagles and the Flyers! All road rally events were run on the weekends. Much to my surprise, Harry immediately agreed to give it a go. We ran in my Rally Volvo and travelled to events in: PA, MD, DE, NJ, NY and CT. Harry’s keen eyesight and his attention to detail were the reasons for our success as a road rally team. It should also be noted that our occasional failures brought out the best humor in both of us. I left PA in 1977, but I continued to send Harry a birthday card every year. Eileen would send holiday cards to me, which often included photos of the family. Being in my 70’s and having lost friends over the years, I thought I would look online for an obituary, because I was getting ready to mail (on 6/19/2020) a card to Harry to wish him a happy birthday. I was saddened to learn of his passing on August 8, 2019. Harry was the best! Although somewhat late, but no less sincere, I extend my deepest sympathy and prayers to Harry’s family. Rest in Peace and God Bless Harry!
