I really hope you see this. I loved Mike. He was so witty and smart and i loved being around him. We would play board games and he would kick my butt everytime but i always learned from him. His time was too short on this earth but he is remembered so lovingly by me. Much love to you. Dawn

Condolences to the MacNeel family. Mike and I were friends all through high school, sharing many classes, and adventures in the Explorers Club at Norristown High School. I will always remember Mike as funny and exceptionally kind. When I think of Mike, I cannot help but be in a positive mood. You are missed, Mike.

Mike was my Dad's Corky Northcutt's best friend. They worked many a night shift together in the Saint Mary's ED and my father valued his friendship and sense of humor immensely. When my Dad died suddenly Mike made it a point to be there for my family. (I feel like he adopted us.) His friendship, humor and council has meant so much to me over more than a decade. I am so terribly sad that he is gone but I think about him all the time. Tales of his kindness and his wild adventures all over the planet will live on. -with much love

I have not spoken to Mike in many years and randomly googled him last night only to see this news. I am devastated and heartbroken. Mike was always a man of great honor, decisiveness, knowledge, humor, and compassion. He taught me a love of scuba and the outdoors and RX8s. We shared a love of animals and wine. I always felt better knowing he was out there in the world making it a better place. I cannot believe he is gone. Please accept my most heartfelt condolences and may he rest in peace forever.

I learned of Mike's passing today and am very sad to loose someone so special to our family. Here are some memories of Mike:
My daughter, Renee, met Mike onboard Semester at Sea. I believe the friend's house she stayed at on the east coast was Mike's parents home. I remember Mike and a group of my daughter's friends came over for dinner at our Phoenix home around 1998. He always kept in touch through sharing his photos and travels. My husband remember Mike asking him about Samurai warrior uniforms. My husband informed him that there is an exhibition in San Francisco and my husband was surprised that Mike went to see the exhibition. He came to our daughter's wedding in L.A. He left behind so many fond memories.
May the MacNeel family gain comfort in knowing how much Mike was loved by his friends. We miss him.

Dear Family,
It is with joy and thanksgiving that we give glory to the Creator for the gift of life that we have been given and the time, however seemingly never enough, to cherish with our loved ones. Michael and I were in several classes together and graduated from NAHS. Truth is I did not know him well; yet it certainly does not negate our feelings of loss and sorrow…emotions that bind us together in time such as now. Too many have already passed from our class just as we are entering our official mid-life crisis. Please know that I am with your family in prayer.
Knowing that we all will be called, I hope we cherish each day as the blessing it is meant to be. I also pray that you and your family will take solace that time and distance can never separate true love; and we all can look forward to the Hope that has been sealed with His promise.
With Heartfelt Condolences,
- David Wolff

Mike and I met on a Semester at Sea intersession 2 week voyage sometime around 1990 - we bunked together "cabin share" - it turned out the poor kid was 21 years younger than I!! But he was his usual accepting self, and our friendship was permanently cemented when I crashed our rent-a-car, and we nearly missed the ship, in Barbados. We traveled often together, you may remember you fed me and lodged me in Norristown when he was still in Medical School. We were in touch almost daily except when we were out of either phone or wi-fi contact - which has been the case for me having been at sea since Nov 18. November 24 he casually informed me of his brother's becoming diabetic (which I am as well). Following that,, unanswered emails followed by unreturned phone calls led me to look for your contact phone numbers in order to find out what was going on. Not remembering your names, typing "Michael Macneel/Norristown" in GOOGLE led me to my dread in finding this Moore, Snear and Ruggerio obituary. I am currently in Los Angeles - having disembarked on January 4 in San Diego. Therefore I am hoping to be able to be with you on the 12th in Norristown. If, by chance, I fail, please know I share your horror on his passing and also share your (and my) joy in having enjoyed all his wonders and wierdnesses. The puns, however, are another story. I look forward to being with you on the 12th. With much love...

I had the privilege working with Dr MacNeel in CMS ED for many years. He was a very gifted, intelligent physician! He cared for his patients, showing great patience not with just them but also to the staff he worked with. I truly enjoyed his humor plus the "quips" he would express from time to time. May Michael MacNeel R.I.P. Condolences to family, friends and peers.

To the family of Mike, please accept my condolences for the loss of your son and brother. Mike and I worked together and became good friends after I retired, and he left St Mary's. I learned many things from Mike the physician. He was a brilliant ED MD with a compassionate heart. Mike always brought his dry sense of humor, and excellent use of puns with him daily. I will miss my daily texts and communication. Mike held a part in my life that I can't replace. He loved his family dearly, which was in large part, what drew me to him. His heart was generous and loving. His mind was so powerful and full of life. His interests were wide and varied. You raised a fine man that will be missed by many.
