Obituary of Therese C. Kehoe

Therese (Cahill) Kehoe, a mom, grandmother and great-grandmother and legal secretary, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at her Norristown home surrounded by her family. Therese was born in the former Riverside Hospital in Norristown on July 15, 1931 to Thomas and Wilhelmina "Minnie" (Teitman) Cahill. She spent the first 14 years of her life in the Barren Hill section of Whitemarsh Township until she, her parents and grandmother moved to the North End section of Norristown. After graduating from St. Matthew High School in Conshohocken, Therese went to work for M. Paul Smith, founder of the law firm Smith, Acker, Grossman and Hollinger. It was the start of a career that spanned more than 60 years. On July 15, 1952 Therese married Jerry Kehoe, even though he was a graduate of rivaling St. Patrick High School. They soon had five children. When her children were young Therese also became very involved with her beloved St. Patrick Parish in Norristown. She served as the first president of the Women's Guild, and also served on the parish council. Therese remained a very active parishioner until her death. Therese was preceded in death by her husband and her oldest son Terrence and her beloved parents. Therese is survived by her children, Mary Beth (Bill) Tobin, Kevin (Diane), Thomas (Rose), Cheryl (Jim) Rodgers, her grandchildren, R.C. (Jen), Michael (Courtney), Kaitlyn, Carolyn, Bridget, Jill, Tommy, Kimberly and Matthew; great-grandchildren Tyler, Jaxon, Paityn and Brooklyn. Her Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 10:00 AM from St. Patrick's RC Church, 714 DeKalb Street, Norristown, Pa 19401. There will be a Visitation for Relatives & Friends on Tuesday Morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Norriton, Pa.
