Paul has lived in Conshohocken since 1970, formerly of West Conshohocken where he was born and raised He was a member of St. Matthew's RC Church of Conshohocken, He was a US Coast Guard Veteran of World War II, where he recieved Navy Combat Action Ribbon, Philippine Presidential Unit Citation, Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal with combat V device, Navy Combat Action Ribbon, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic - Pacific Campaign Medal with One Silver & 3 Bronze Stars to denote 9 campaigns, World War II Victory Medal, Philippine Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon & Philippine Liberation Medal with 2 Bronze Stars He worked as a steel worker with Alan Wood Steel then with Stenton Arms for 10 years before retiring He was a member of CBC and TK Clubs of Conshohocken, he was an avid golfer and often shot his age playing up to age 91, he won the Seniors and Super Seniors at Skippack Golf Club where he was a member
