Obituary of Thomas A. Hitchcock
Thomas Hitchcock, 82, of E. Norriton passed away on Saturday, June 2nd. Tom was born in Conshohocken on March 14, 1936. He graduated from CHS (Class of '54) and Drexel Univ. in '63 with a BSME. He worked for C&D Batteries for 29 years and then Penn Christian Academy for 32 years.
At PCA, Tom was the Facilities Engineer and Wood Shop Teacher. His passion was woodworking and he loved seeing the students use their God-given talents to make and create clocks, book shelves, pens, etc. that they and their families could keep and cherish for a lifetime.
When not involved with the school, Tom's other hobby was photography, where he was a member and past officer of the Norristown Camera Club. He was also a member at Fairview Village Church of the Nazarene with his wife, Dorothy.
Tom was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Castner) Hitchcock. They had 3 children, James (deceased), Mark (Shannon) Hitchcock and Brenda (Mike) Winter and 3 grandchildren, Ian and Rebecca Hitchcock and Eric Winter. Tom was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Eugene and William. He is survived by his 2 sisters, Betty Taylor and Doris Habermacher.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 9 am – 10 am at Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home (19 E. Germantown Pike; E. Norriton). The memorial service will begin at 10 am with burial following at Gulph Christian Cemetery (100 Matsons Ford Rd; Conshohocken). All are welcome to bring their favorite dish to share at Fairview Village Church of the Nazarene (3044 W. Germantown Pike; Eagleville) for the Potluck Luncheon following the burial.
