Obituary of William W. Lesher, III

William W. Lesher, III, age 87, a lifelong resident of Norristown, passed away on Sunday November 19, 2017 at the Mennonite Community at Rockhill. He was born in Norristown, PA on February 28, 1930, the son of the late William W. Lesher, II and Emma (Latshaw) Lesher. William loved his family, music, and relaxing at the beach. He was a member of the Verdi Band of Norristown, and performed in ceremonial musical marches throughout the greater Philadelphia area. He also enjoyed doing yardwork at his home and was featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer. Later in life he developed a fondness for vintage military aircraft. William honorably served in the U.S. Army in Europe during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his four sons, Martin (& Lisa) Lesher of Telford, PA; Chris (& Terri) Lesher of Boulder, CO; Bruce (& Daniela) Lesher of Marlton, NJ; and Stephan (& Andrea) Lesher of Hatfield, PA; as well as five grandchildren, Stefan, Ryan, Sarah, Anna, and Sofia Lesher. Along with his parents, William was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Lesher. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10:30 AM from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA 19401. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia. William loved his family and music. He was a member of the Verdi Band of Norristown. He also enjoyed doing yardwork at his home and was featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer. William honorably served in the U.S. Army in Europe during the Korean Conflict.
