Obituary of John H. Taggart

John H. "Jack" Taggart, age 92, of Collegeville, PA died at home on Tuesday May 23, 2017. Jack was born in Phoenixville, Pa on October 20, 1924, one of seven children of Thomas and Florence (Hitman) Taggart. For many years, he and his wife lived in West Norriton, moving to Collegeville in 1990. Jack served in the US Navy with the 79th Construction Battalion during World War II. Jack was the owner of Suburban Mechanical Contractors, also a member of Plumbers Union Local # 690. He was also a construction consultant for Ursinus College, Villanova University and many private investment companies. He was a member of St. Eleanor's Roman Catholic Church of Collegeville, PA, where he was past head usher. Beloved husband of the late – Cecilia R. (Boyle) Taggart, who proceeded him in death in 2009. Survivors include his Son: John H. Taggart, Jr. Schwenksville PA Daughter: Joan Koch Chalfont PA Daughter: Carol Taggart Collegeville PA Daughter: Kathleen DeWees Schwenksville PA Daughter: Patricia Taggart Collegeville PA Son: Edward Taggart Spring Mount PA Sister: Barbara Caffrey Phoenixville PA Also survived by 9 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren. His Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 10:30 AM from the St. Eleanor's RC Church 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA 19426/ Msgr. Michael McCulkin will be officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:15 AM at the Church. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery Co., West Norriton, PA. John has lived in Collegeville, Pa since 1990, formerly of West Norriton, Pa and Phoenixville, Pa where he was born and raised. He was a member of St. Eleanor's RC Church of Collegeville, Pa, where he was a long time usher. John served in the US Navy Construction Battalion during World War II. He was the owner & operator of Suburban Mechanical Contractor of Norristown, Pa He also worked as a Consultant with Investment Companies.
