Obituary of Jacqueline A. Mellon
Jacqueline A. Mellon, age 88, of Blue Bell, PA passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Lankenau Hospital.
She was born in Norristown, PA on June 9, 1936, the daughter of the late Francis and Gertrude (Bobenreith) Mullin.
Jacquie graduated from The Montgomery Hospital School of Nursing and worked at several institutions and for most of her career was an Emergency Room nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital
Jacquie lived in Wilmington DE and Plymouth Meeting, East Norriton and Hazleton, PA before moving to Blue Bell, where she has lived for one year. She was a parishioner of Epiphany of Our Lord RC Church of Plymouth Meeting. Jacquie lived life to the fullest. She loved her family and it showed every time she spoke of them. She was very involved in her own children's activities and continued that involvement with her grandchildren. She hosted them at their beautiful home on the lake as they referred to as Camp Gan. A trip to Knoebels was always on the itinerary. She enjoyed swimming, shopping, finding any bargain out there; she and her husband traveled to many destinations, including dozens of cruise vacations. They were to celebrate 65 years of marriage on Thanksgiving Day.
Some of her favorite home activities included FiveCrowns, Dominoes and Rummikub. She was passionate about her Bridge game, even playing a week before her passing.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Joseph Mellon, Sr. of Blue Bell; son, Joseph F. (Barb) Mellon, Jr. of Plymouth Meeting; daughter, Denise (Chris) Tryens of Media, PA; son, Charles Mellon of Philadelphia; son, Thomas (Missy) Mellon of East Norriton; son, Matthew Mellon of San Diego, CA; and brother, J. Edmund Mullin of Worcester. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Anne, Florence (Robinson) and brother, Robert.
Her Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 10:30 AM from Epiphany Of Our Lord RC Church, 3050 Walton Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Church.
Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, East Norriton, PA.
